In my opinion, there are two local companies in Austin that seem to be approaching security the right way = protecting your home while treating you like a customer. We recommend considering All Star Security and Texas Central Security. Like Frontpoint, All Star does not require a phone line, which we love, and they offer free activation. Although their entry level system is rather basic, they do have options for upgraded features like touchscreen panels and smartphone notifications. They are most comparable to Link Interactive, another top rated national provider, in terms of pricing and also partners. Both All Star and Link use Alarm.com and 2GIG technology.

Texas Central Security

Texas Central Security is not as strong at customer service as Frontpoint. However, if you want in-home installation, Texas Central Security is going to be your best bet. From a technology standpoint, they are very similar to both All Star Security and Link. In fact, they use the same control panel as Link Interactive.

Texas Central’s monthly fee starts at $39.99 per month which is more expensive than both Frontpoint and Link, but if you want a local company that can install the system for you, it may be worth a few extra dollars per month.
